As a non-profit, the Economics Awareness Program requires chapters to be open at schools to increase financial and economics awareness. Any student in a school can open a chapter at their school, however we do prefer student leaders to have some prior financial and economics awareness and are the older students in the school. (juniors & seniors in high school, or 7th/8th graders in the middle schools). In this page, students will understand the overall goal of the school chapters and the guidelines we have.
Our Goal
Our team at the Economics Awareness Program noticed that there is a lack of financial education in many schools. Financial and economics awareness starts early on, in childhood, to help students create success later on in life. Studies have shown that many people (even adults) are financial illterate and struggle to manage their budget, lack an understanding of investing, and struggle with their finances. As a result, we create the Chapters program to provide access to financial & economics education in schools in our area and beyond. This small step can create a lasting impact on students' lives as it increases their knowledge to the field in engaging and interactive ways that will benefit them for the long term.

What We Strive For

1
Increasing Awareness
The Chapters Program is designed to help students increase their awareness about financial and economical topics through lessons and activities in their school chapter
2
Building Connections
School Chapters also allow students to build meaningful and long lasting connections with many students in their school who share similar interests in finance and economics.
3
Helping the Less Fortunate
The student leaders will also get opportunities to help underprivileged students through our "Adopt a School and Classroom" program by helping teach finance and economics topics to underserved schools and communities.
How We Achieve This
Through our curriculum, students will have access to bite-sized lessons filled with engaging videos, important content, and check-in quizzes (along with a test) to check their understanding of our economics & finance courses. Students will complete our curriculum in our school chapters with guidance from student leaders (known as "Financial Friends") to ensure that they understand the concepts.
The Student Leaders ("Financial Friends") help underserved schools and communities by traveling to nearby schools and lead workshops, create a "buddy system" with students, guiding them with the curriculum, and so much more! This will help students foster meaningful connections with students in need and also help the students have better financial and economic education.
Furthermore, we also offer additional enrichment opportunities to school chapters by allowing them to create personalized activities for the students at their school. This includes creating finance or economic themed competition, teaching them content that is related but outside our curriculum, and make their own worksheets, lessons, and more!
We also provide incentives for students in their finance and economics journey. Students who complete a course successfully will recieve certificates of completion. Furthermore, students who volunteer can recieve service hours and earn a PVSA (Presidential Volunteer Service Award) if they meet the criteria.
Benefits to the Community
Real World Scenarios for Real Life Issues
The EAP Program helps students in the long run by teaching them essential topics such as Budgeting, Credit & Debt, and Investing that will help them as they start investing in stocks and manage their budget as they get older.
Helping Those in Need
The EAP Program helps transforms the lives of lower-income students by providing free financial and economics education to them through our "Adopt a School/Classroom Program". We believe that knowledge starts in the classroom, and we strive to be the "helping hand" students need!
